Why is Tik Tok thanking the President-Elect for?

Exactly this. That message pissed me off all over again and people who don’t know better are really going to think he saved the day.

He wanted to ban it before he figured out how to make money on the deal to keep it.

I actually watched something about this. So apparently Biden said he wouldn't prosecutor tiktok but didn't actually want to sign a 90 day extension since it's a one time thing and he didn't want to do anything that would affect the Trump administration. So he instructed the....sorry. Law people to not go after tiktok. Tiktok said that's not good enough. We need the language to say the apps stores won't be in trouble. Biden didn't want to change the language. He said I said what I said. Trump apparently jumped in and said I'll say it. He said he'll retroactively cover everyone when he gets in.

That's the basics of what I understood anyway.

I guess now Congress gets 90 days to debate it.

It is, everything is political theater anymore.

In retrospect most people won't remember he wasn't president when it took effect and when the ban got postponed, and odds are folks won't even remember this happened at all. What will matter is if the app does wind up pulled in 90 days it will be Trump whose name is associated with it, if it is saved then most people will forget it was ever at risk. 

We live in a country where a ton of people still think Obama was president when 9/11 happened and that Covid started under Biden - memory is flawed af.

Trump said he would extend the deadline for them to sell Tik-Tok. I'm not really sure how because I thought Congress set the deadline in law but that was just a presumption.

TT sold out to Meta. Check the profile on TT it has ‘share your thoughts’ bubble like Fakebook and IG. They are keeping it a secret because they know majority of people who aren’t boomers don’t trust Narc Suckerberg and we would have left the app. It’s a matter of time but Meta will ruin TT just like they ruined IG.
