Are people livestreaming only to get money/gifts? Especially in Asia?!

HI, I'm from Switzerland, 33 years old and work from home and my dream is to emigrate to an asian country. I'm since 3 months on Tiktok again (last time like 4 years ago), and currently in a asian rabbit hole feed it seems like. And I don't know what is going on.. All those Chinese, Korean, Japanese streamers are just there to get money/gifts. They even stream at like 3 o'clock in the morning and mess up theyr sleep schedule, just to get gifts from Europe and America. They make like every 5th minute a match, which is just there to get even more gifts. I still have no idea even what does matches are.. They just sit there for 5 minutes and scream send me gifts and do absoluty nothing. It doesn't matter if they have 1k follower or half a million. It's always the same. And i know for a fact, that most of them work for an agency. It's theyr job. They are all in a building rented from the agency and every streamer has it's own room. That's why the rooms look all the same. They even don't answer questions if you are not a level 20 account or so. So my question is.. What people are supporting those streamers. How lonely and down bad you have to be to spend money just to get a hello back? Not all are the same but in like 80% of the cases it it.. Not sure in which rabbit hole I got into. Are all asians like this? Are they all "gold diggers"? I might stay in switzerland then 😂😂

Anyone else notice the brutal racism against Indians on RedNote?

Don’t get me wrong, I have seen racism especially in the comments for every group other than Han Chinese, but the comments about Indian people just seem exceptionally brutal, with talk of Indians being inherently dirty, violent, untrustworthy, stupid, silly, etc. There seems to be no shortage of comments claiming Indians are taking over and ruining Canada, Malaysia, Australia, and Britain. Is this me having an unlucky algorithm, or have others seen this racism be prevalent too?

How do you rebuild when your audience disappears after you set boundaries?

I built a following on social media through content I put a lot of time, care, and personal energy into. But over time, I noticed most followers weren’t engaging—they were watching, but never supporting or interacting. I tried asking politely for support, explaining that engagement mattered and that I needed real participation, not just passive views. But people ignored it. Eventually, I got fed up. I started drawing hard boundaries. I said I'd remove ghost followers. I was direct. I even said I'd block people who continued to consume without engaging—because at that point, I was exhausted. That only pushed more people away. I’ve offered things like: * A simple $5 donation form for those wanting my time or advice — no one used it. * A website where people could submit questions for a small fee — people found ways to bypass it and message me directly anyway. * A Patreon — no subscribers. The message I kept getting from my audience was: *“We want what you offer, but we don’t want to pay, engage, or support you in return.”* Now my platform feels empty. The people still there don't interact. I don’t know how to fix it. So my questions are: * Was I too harsh? * Is there a way to regain trust without becoming a pushover again? * How do you protect your time and energy **without** driving away your entire audience? Any real advice is appreciated. Not looking for pity — just perspective.

New to lives. Few questions

Hey folks just started streaming lives and need to rule out a few things. First off I'm 31 so age isn't an issue. My chat keep warning me in certain things I'm doing. I vape, apparently thats not allowed according to some of my chat and even saying the word can be detected. How true is this? I have been moving it off my face to vape just to be sure but surely the word vape is fine? The second one. Is apparently saying "twitch" is bad. Not trying to pull people there but just referencing the website for whatever reason. My live got restricted too, I pulled out a can of none alcoholic ginger beer (kids can buy it) from the fridge and shown it to my stream and said I'm drinking ginger beer. And the second I did that the restriction for tobacco product/alcohol popped up. Is it really that strict? Does the automatic system really pick up on spoken words? Thanks guys.

Selling my TikTok account

Selling my TikTok account

I’ve had it for a while now and have made enough money from it to be happy. Unfortunately the monetization is not still active due to inactivity on the account but can be reactivated with avid posting and good videos. I would start posting again but am too busy now and focused on other things. If you are interested send a dm and we can negotiate a price. thanks.
