To be honest this should be a wake up call for everyone freaking out. If you're this reliant on a short term video app for literally everything, y'all need to change something.

I don't mean that to be mean, honestly. But if losing that app is a that big of a deal where you feel lost, you literally can't decide what book to read, what recipe to follow to cook, you really need to stay off this app. Search up recipes online, and read them. Go to a library and and go to the genre section of your fancy and look at stuff that looks interesting to you- it's literally free.

I’ve never had it either. But it’s rotted the brains of people all over the world. I’m in my mid 40s and friends my age are too busy on TikTok to pay attention to their families. It’s a disease.

you’ll be affected pretty soon when you realize that the ban just gave the US gov. a legal precedent for the banning of ANY foreign based media. this includes games like black myth wukong, just about anything owned by tencent (pubg mobile, league of legends, etc.), editing program capcut, countless movies, many smaller apps, etc. I’m taking about ANY foreign media, not just apps and not just the chinese ones. we’ve reached a turning point on the internet where instead of seeing more and more new things every year, we’ll be allowed to see less and less. this is good for no one.

I don’t use it either because I value my data not being filtered by a US enemy but watching this scares me with my social media use. I told my wife we need a basket and put our phones in it after dinner. I think we need that basket now because this social media shit rots your brain.
