Why do people in China insist racism doesn’t exist in their country when I get replies like this on rednote

Part of the issue of your argument is that it’s an anecdotal take of one person’s opinion, possibly a troll. Based on the translation of this conversation it is one about space aliens? And the other comments seem to believe in unity
In a country of 1.4 billion people you'll get some cranks. Notice how 1) nobody has starred it or posted agreement and 2) he hasn't just been "elected" to lead their country or be a judge or something.
Individual prejudice and institutional racism are two very different things. You will never have a country free of people who believe wild things because people believe wild things. Does Chinese culture give somebody like that a badge, a gun, some white supremacist tattoos, and then unleash him on a black community to kill people with the approval and protection of the State? Because that's what the US does with racist men. This article is about the police department where I live, and they are still this bad and have killed more people since the article was posted.
This might shock Westerners, but literally all countries have racism, even the countries that have non-white populations. Every single one. Anyone saying their country has no racism is wrong. What is the point of this post? To shit talk Chinese cultural standards? I've had over 20 DM conversations on xhs now and they have all been honest about having different cultural standards to our own. Political correctness isn't important in Chinese culture, just as it's not important in most non-Western, non-white cultures. So yeah, you're going to find people saying mad shit like this in every country. Accept that as a fact of interacting with people from other cultures and either decide you don't want to interact with them and continue using the app or delete the app and move on with your life.
There are 1.4 billion people there, and there are bound to be a few jerks. Recently, during the cultural exchanges between the two sides, a lot of weirdos from both sides have sneaked into RN. They lack empathy and love using highly aggressive rhetorical questions when they speak. They're not well-educated and ignore the peaceful communication norms of the community. Some people have even used VPNs to fake the country shown in their IP addresses and deliberately start heated arguments. This definitely violates the community rules. I usually just reply with "racist" and then take a screenshot and report them. Also, for the sake of my blood pressure, I'll block the person right away so they don't get a chance to spew garbage at me. Besides, you should know that the community is mainly made up of educated adult women. They believe people are born good, but that doesn't mean they're weak. You can call on the sisterhood for help. But it's better to use this method sparingly because the post will most likely get locked.
As non white, I don't feel safe traveling alone in US/EU.
Racism in every countries of the earth…. I think It’s a common sense.
I think its different culture defination of racism. China define people by culture not skin color. Also, applying the western concept of racism to non-colonism and non-immigrant country such as China itself is out of context on it own.
China is not an immigrant country. China do not welcome immigrant no matter which country they are from (US, Europe, Africa or India) Chinese citizenship is most difficult to get. Foreigner living in China are mostly expats, not immigrant. Its very difficult for Chinese to grasp the concept of racism because its a foreign concept.
Are there discrimination? yes. For example old Shanghai people are known to discriminate non Shanghai people. northen China and Southern Chinese can be beefy to each other .etc, but its not racism because both are the same race. There are many reason for discrimination in China (consider there are 1.4billion people, ) however, race and skin color is normally not a considetation.
Hence, are there discrimination? people will openly say yes. (for example: people with religion, age, from certain regions, vegan, have tatoo .etc)
However, Are there discrimination based on race or skin color, aka racism ? most people will say no. bacause common Chinese may have a lot of reason to discriminate different subgroups (human tribuism), but race is not a common or primary consideration. and people will discriminate in the conceptual framework that they are used to.
PS. whoever relied on the original post clearly is a malitous troll and not a real user, bacause its obvious targets westerners and not normal Chinese way of framing things)
Because "racial discrimination" is a Western term, it is difficult to apply it to non-immigrant countries, especially China.
Chinese culture is completely different from the West, and the things that matter are also completely different. It is difficult to understand using Western concepts.
For example, in the West, if you are Chinese, it is easy to encounter people who insult you in the street or make discriminatory actions openly.
But if you are in China, it is almost impossible to encounter such things. Even if people don't like you, they won't show it and will still be enthusiastic to you.
You use the term "racial discrimination" obviously by using Western thinking to apply to China.
Chinese people have other things to care about more than race.
That's not a Chinese person.
Yeah they claim there's no racism... but after seeing the comment section after someone mentions India... I'm not so sure 😬
So you’re thinking about switching (or at least dabbling) from TikTok to **Rednote** (aka Xiaohongshu)? Here’s a quick rundown on what to expect and how to adapt: 1. **Different Vibe** * **TikTok** is all about short, snappy videos—dances, trends, and memes. * **Rednote** leans more toward lifestyle tips, product reviews, and personal stories. Think mini-blogs rather than just quick clips. 2. **Less is More—or Is It?** * On **TikTok**, you can go viral with a 15-second masterpiece. * On **Rednote**, people actually read captions and appreciate detailed posts. Don’t be afraid to write a bit more and share personal insights. 3. **Engage with the Community** * Responding to comments is key on both platforms, but **Rednote** users expect a friendlier, more helpful approach. Focus on real interaction rather than just racking up views. 4. **Use Relevant Hashtags & Keywords** * **TikTok** hashtags can be trendy and fleeting. * **Rednote** hashtags and keywords should be more targeted, especially if you’re reviewing products or sharing how-to tips. 5. **Be Ready for Culture Shifts** * The **Rednote** audience often loves beauty, travel, fashion, and “real-life” hacks. * If you’re pivoting from dance challenges, consider experimenting with lifestyle or review content to fit the platform’s style. 6. **Quality Over Quantity** * While **TikTok** can reward frequent posting, **Rednote** might favor fewer, well-thought-out posts that really resonate. High-quality visuals and genuine storytelling go a long way. Got questions about Rednote? Drop ’em below—always happy to help a fellow content creator make the jump!
Why exactly? You and me know why America is banning tiktok... They can't control the narrative their like they do with Facebook or Instagram YouTube. etc The genocide in Gaza was being shown in its full without any kind of censorship... And daddy israel doesn't like that so the AIPAC who's holding the American politicians by the balls... Forced them into banning the app.... It's not about privacy or any of that.... Remember edward Snowden.? I rest my case.
Say it with me....because he and his oligarch buddies are getting worried Americans are waking up to the truth about the anti-China propaganda BS in Red Note and will either demand better conditions or go full socialist.
