“Why do you use RedNote” Rant

This is the RedNote subreddit. I don’t understand why people come in here and try to discourage people from using the app WE CHOSE to download. I wish the mods would ban these people because it’s so annoying.

“Of course they’re not doing x, y, z. It’s the Chinese government.”

If I see one more comment like that, I’m just immediately assuming you’re a bot and blocking you.

I am an American and have used Tiktok which was sold to oracle. A lot of people have complained that ever since the blackout in the US, their algorithm hasn’t been the same. TikTok is also censoring information and the US already has ssn data leaks. Most people do not care if their data is leaked because trust in the US government is at an all time low, i genuinely believe we’d still have to pay bills and taxes even if we got bombed tomorrow.

Honestly I think rednote is a wayyyy better social media platform than instagram or any of the other western platforms.

Rednote doesn’t suggest dumbass influencers making stupid videos or dumb reels that makes your brain rot. I’ve honestly stopped using instagram thanks to RedNote!

Not to mention the strict moderation of the platform helps keep away harmful or deceitful videos making the app a healthier place for viewers.

Honestly, it seems like this subreddit is full of people who are against China. They're always trying to convince us that XHS wants to get rid of us, even though I see the direct opposite.

XHS translated the app's user interface to English, let us buy from the XHS shop, and added auto-translate features (they're still adding more too??) They recently added a translation feature for images, which is a very difficult thing to implement. I don't see why they'd add it if they didn't want us here.

And also, they still have it available on the foreign App Store. Don't you think that if they didn't want foreigners, they wouldn't allow them to download it in the first place?

They have superior fashion hauls, makeup swatches, and hair and makeup tutorials. Most of them get reposted to instagram anyway. Plus the translation is so good

ive been using xhs since 2018 and the content has always been top tier, always high quality and informative/educational. tiktok and instagram are mostly brain rot and fuckass clickbait.

pmo that majority of the brain rot "refugees" swarmed xhs and ruined it for a couple weeks, every other post from them i see are "am i pretty in china"

They are just salty because Americans are “invading” the app.

Agreed, I'm one of those freedom-haters who prefers a more moderated platform

I enjoy Rednote because it seems less political, for now. (That may be changing, and in that case I will use it less often.) Sometimes I need a break from all that.

Huh? This post feels like it came out of nowhere. I also just saw that you made a post about getting muted on xhs. LOL! They ain't gonna unmute you.

The Reddit community is famously anti-China. It’s unfortunate. Switched over to XHS and the content has wider variety.

Making the Jump from TikTok to Rednote(Xiaohongshu)? Here’s What You Need to Know

So you’re thinking about switching (or at least dabbling) from TikTok to **Rednote** (aka Xiaohongshu)? Here’s a quick rundown on what to expect and how to adapt: 1. **Different Vibe** * **TikTok** is all about short, snappy videos—dances, trends, and memes. * **Rednote** leans more toward lifestyle tips, product reviews, and personal stories. Think mini-blogs rather than just quick clips. 2. **Less is More—or Is It?** * On **TikTok**, you can go viral with a 15-second masterpiece. * On **Rednote**, people actually read captions and appreciate detailed posts. Don’t be afraid to write a bit more and share personal insights. 3. **Engage with the Community** * Responding to comments is key on both platforms, but **Rednote** users expect a friendlier, more helpful approach. Focus on real interaction rather than just racking up views. 4. **Use Relevant Hashtags & Keywords** * **TikTok** hashtags can be trendy and fleeting. * **Rednote** hashtags and keywords should be more targeted, especially if you’re reviewing products or sharing how-to tips. 5. **Be Ready for Culture Shifts** * The **Rednote** audience often loves beauty, travel, fashion, and “real-life” hacks. * If you’re pivoting from dance challenges, consider experimenting with lifestyle or review content to fit the platform’s style. 6. **Quality Over Quantity** * While **TikTok** can reward frequent posting, **Rednote** might favor fewer, well-thought-out posts that really resonate. High-quality visuals and genuine storytelling go a long way. Got questions about Rednote? Drop ’em below—always happy to help a fellow content creator make the jump!

The ban isn't really about privacy concerns

Why exactly? You and me know why America is banning tiktok... They can't control the narrative their like they do with Facebook or Instagram YouTube. etc The genocide in Gaza was being shown in its full without any kind of censorship... And daddy israel doesn't like that so the AIPAC who's holding the American politicians by the balls... Forced them into banning the app.... It's not about privacy or any of that.... Remember edward Snowden.? I rest my case.

Y'all know why Trump suddenly became "pro-TikTok" right?

Say it with me....because he and his oligarch buddies are getting worried Americans are waking up to the truth about the anti-China propaganda BS in Red Note and will either demand better conditions or go full socialist.
