I've been following this build and have half decent gear, I am at level 89 and keep dying. I have almost 2k life and the armor thing says 60%, but i still die more than I'd like, what can I change, the guide says evasion/es would be better, what should I change about his gear/skill tree

60% armour and your character screen is basically worthless due to how the armour formula actually works.
Due to that you essentially have very little mitigation which means 2k life is nowhere near necessary to make up for it. Which is likely why the guide suggests EV/ES which can get substantially higher ehp. Armour is very much something you want 20-30k at a bare minimum plus having it affect elemental damage as well. If you aren't going all in on it going ES is going to be easily 3x better.
Are all your resistances capped?
From what Ive played ES>Evasion>Armour
I've found only way to feel tanky in POE2 is have 4k+ ES and 80%+ Evasion with high Deflection rolls on gear

I'm not familiar with your build so I don't have any specifics, but your chaos res is only 37, you should get that capped as well. Some of your stats are really low rolls, like 2.2 life regen on boots and the phys damage on your weapon. Also you've got 20% evasion on your amulet, but pure Armour body Armour and boots, so that's not a stat you are getting much use out of.

Also make sure your helmet has "4" fewer enemies line
Just a man and his crossbow. Mercenary is duelist persona tuned up to 11 and I love it.
