Full resonance Trinity with Archmage: is it possible?

I'm running CoC Comet and decided to try out Trinity as I have the spirit to run it.

The problem is that archmage gives so much added lightning damage that it causes any spell to only trigger lightning resonance.

Cold resonance is easy to solve for with Emibitter, which converts all that added lightning to cold.

I have not been able to find a solution for fire resonance. Occasionally I get little bits of it, which I think are from Explosive Impact which shouldn't get the added damage from archmage. Unfortunately the 5% chance to trigger isn't enough to sustain fire resonance.

Oddly, the only time I really capped out fire resonance was with a gloom shrine. I run blackflame covenant, so maybe the chaos damage from the shrine effect is counting toward fire resonance.

So I need either something that will convert or reduce the lightning damage on one specific spell, or something that will cause enemies to explode on death causing fire or chaos damage that won't get the added lightning from archmage. Sadly Palm of the Dreamer is not an option as it doesn't have enough spirit.

Any ideas?

EDIT: Another possibility would be some source of triggered/automatic fire (or maybe chaos) damage from hits that isn't a spell. Explode on death is the only example of this that I can think of off the top of my head, but there may be others.

Painter's Servant may work but in this case isn't worth it due to added suffix strain and loss of IIR.

Painter's Servant does not affect extra damages.

If you're not mana stacking probably. But you'd need to get high tier extra damage for fire and cold on your staff or wand, and maybe runes too.

Keep in mind that trinity scales with roughly the rate of hits where one is max, so even if you have a good amount of fire hits, if cold and lightning is hitting 2x more, it won't fill. Also keep in mind the roll ranges.

You could try Mana Flare, maybe? You could also experiment with living bomb or firestorm in a trigger (especially spellslinger or coc). If you're CI the Extraction support can give you some chaos/flame, too.

Full disclosure: I gave up on it because mana stacking with Archmage + rathpiths and CoC Comet felt much stronger. Especially since I was mostly using lightning spells anyways.

I used firestorm as main skill with archmage, trinity, and ele conflux. I maybe can get 50% uptime of 250+ resonance.

On spark coc comet, you may want to try using the spellslinger + any fire skill with the mouse trick. Also add living bomb on your coc (if not yet).

I’m in a similar boat, trying to maximize Trinity. I’m on oracle. Cold and light resonance are always maxed so that’s 200 with 8% per 30 yielding about 48% increased elemental damage.

I did some testing vs the alternative of using elemental Conflux which is 78% increased damage but of only one element at a time. I really only looked at comet dmg as that’s my main dps. Because of archmage and just how my build is set up, comets are doing a mix of all 3 elements each hit (even before fire infusions) so the 48% elemental increase from Trinity outweighs the single element 78 from Conflux since elemental dmg sort of “triple” dips. So using Trinity is still best, even if not fully optimized.

However the min maxer in me wants to squeeze out that additional 32% elemental damage and skill speed that I’m leaving on the table (300 resonance vs 200).

Unfortunately my tree uses blackflame covenant keystone (since I’m passive node stacking for time lost jewels) and converts all fire damage to chaos lol so I think it’s impossible for me to create enough pure fire damage without sacrificing the rest of my build.

I got bored at this stage in the league and decided to spend many of my hard earned divines on a small project. Wouldn't it be funny to stack Energy shield for a min-level char? [https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/1a027](https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/1a027) Tabula rasa has relevant jewel mods noted on it in POB so the math actually works out since it doesn't seem to work properly in POB. second screenshot is with a lvl 29 discipline aura with 36% increased aura magnitude - I didn't wanna spend another several thousand divines on a support character, I just wanted to see how well it would work theoretically >3000 ES without aurabot is possible, however, its basically impossible in practice. As of now, there are \*18\* 2 socket uncorrupted crown of thorns left on trade - on average it takes \~11 to hit a 30% and then another 1 in 3 to get a 3 socket one. Hitting a double corrupt on said 3 socket would be better then my current one, but that's not plausible sadly. Same for the boots. Hitting a better double corrupt on the gloves and focus would likely be plausible, but I couldn't buy more bases from Finn. Grip of Kulemak 59% ES \*should\* be possible, but it already took me over 40 attempts to hit 57% so I think I'll just leave it as is. Belt I didn't find any other way besides the 25% corrupt to get ES without a level requirement - if anyone has any idea tell me. Amulet could sanctify for 19/19 but again, would require silly amounts of currency (each try is \~30 div as is with annoint + sanctify + quality). I \*think\* patient barrier should be best annoint, but correct me if I'm wrong. Total investment into this character so far is about 3000 divines, probably a bit more. further thoughts \- maximum technically possible is 3112 ES at level 2 unless I'm missing something important. I made an elemental crossbow varashta sorc this season as my starting build (goal was to exploit yoke of suffering's full potential, you can find poe ninja below, don't be fooled by the dmg tooltip, it kill ubers before they can move) and so since I was in the intel side of the tree I used my weapon swap to maximize exposure (with whispering ice) and curse magnitude. Here with some non-optimized gear I'm reaching a total of -338% res (that's -169% on bosses), meaning it's better than rakiata's. I use cursed ground support to apply the curse and icestorm (which comes with the staff) with prolonged duration and potent exposure to make the exposure last longer. This tech doesn't require much investment apart from your weapon swap and a few sockets at most so it can be plugged into many elemental builds. As it is now, it requires you to cast the spells with your weapon swap, so I use it mostly for bosses, but i might cast icestorm on bulky rares in juiced maps once in a while. If you have a skill dedicated for mapping, it'll propably better to use rakiata on it, and remove it or use another skill for bosses. With yoke and the electrocution node on the tree, enemies have 120% damage taken, more if they're cursed, on top of the giant res drop, plus you benefit from a lot of the "damage against enemies with ailments nodes" so that's why the tooltip is low (explosive grenades indicate 60k in game but they hit bosses for like 2M) at first I was playing with permafrost bolt with frost nexus + navira's fracture + fragmentation rounds, it was a fun combo and really strong for leveling but I couldn't scale navira's fracture damage in late game (I had command + minion nodes on my second weapon instead of the curse/exposure at the time) Hope this inspires some of you!
