Dying in a corrupted Nexus

Just to make sure I have a firm grasp on this one, if you die, at all, while taking on a corrupted nexus even if you have lives remaining, you still lose the nexus and everything that goes with it? I know if you die and run out of revives, that’s it, but it’s the same on both ends?

Yes, die once and you get screwed even with revives. I hate this design choice

If you die to anything in boss fight area, the game assumes you died to boss and clears all map monsters and mechanics. This includes the corruption on the map. You get your revives to only kill the boss but corruption boss doesn't appear after one death in "boss area". I'm not sure if dying in other parts of the map also makes the corruption/nexus disappear.

Did you die in the map to mobs or to the boss before clearing all content? Cause dying to the boss removes all content from the map

Every death I’ve had is due to not dodge rolling a slam from the monkey boss at precisely the right time or randomly getting one shot by something as I’m running past it.

Death in this game is far too punishing - if I wanted to be miserable when I died I’d play hardcore.

  • The chance to complete the map with all the mods
  • The Waystone
  • The use on the tablets
  • 10% of your XP (2.5% if you use an Omen) we could potentially be hours of mapping
  • Your time
  • Any items on the floor you haven’t picked up
  • For a Nexus you lose all the cleansed maps

It’s a little bit too much…

I’ve died twice in a nexus, the first to a random mob, the corruptions all stayed, but the nexus was gone.

I also died to the corruption boss after defeating the map boss. It revived me outside of the arena, I walked back in and the corruption boss was just gone, and it told me map completed. All corruptions in the area turned into cleansed maps.

Makes no sense to me, that dying from the boss ended the fight and still cleansed the area, but dying in the map before the boss makes it all a fail and removes the ability to cleanse the rest of the area at all.

I think only if you died to the boss

I didn't have this happen once. Is it really a big deal?

Die. Lose Nexus. Lose extra content. Lose 10% of experience. Lose progression towards endgame. Could be worse in hardcore! Sounds like a lot of fun. /s

It would be ok if disconnections, one shots, overturned mechanics and the mandatory 6 mod maps were not factors in the atlas progression.

Yes in terms of completing the quests related to the corrupted nexus. If you have another revive and beat the map boss the area will be cleansed again.

Nothing makes me rage more than having to find another nexus and wasting hours for a simple mistake like dying once

You need to pick your waystones for nexus questd very carefully. Other than that i dont even read the mods.
