I ask because GS says it converts phys damage into lightning, so I'm not sure if having %ele instead of %phys on my crossbow is killing my dps. And I have no idea how SB calculates its damage since it's triggered off of something else.
Elemental damage is a global modifer increasing the total damage Like passives on the skilltree.
The %phys Rolls on weapons are local increasing your Base damage(which is then converted by GS and increased by passives and ele dmg on weapons)
Most of the time % phys or flat dmg Rolls are better cause those get scaled by you passives
