Best use for 2nd item set... Light Radius?

I never really used a second item set until recently. I just had some buff me stuff there but I always forgot to cast it and actually never used it at all. Until I had an idea... what if I could just greatly increase my vision radius with a mouse button?

So I tried it and buffed my light radius as much as possible with my 2nd Item set and the respective skills in the tree...

So I got...

  1. Guiding Palm of the eye unique scepter... Usually 25% increased light radius, got a corrupted version with 31%.

  2. Threaded light woven focus. It has 20% light radius but I got a corrupted version with 24%.

You could ofc. have a 2handed weapon like some unique or rare item, but they all dont add up as much light radius as these two together.

And in the skill tree I happened to be close enough to the nodes:

  1. Illuminated Crown (20% increased Light Radius)

  2. Chakra of Sight (20% increased Light Radius)

So all together it is about 95% increased Light Radius.... I bound the weapon swat to one of my mouse buttons just to press it ocassionally with my thumb.

and maaaaaan... this makes life so much easier. almost 100% Light radius means almost 4 times the visible Area.... the difference is just HUGE! You rarly miss anything on the map anymore.... Both uniques are super cheap. So even if you cannot spec into the 2nd weapon set skill points for the additional 40% light radius, you still should get 45% increased light radius for basically free...

Try it out, and you will be enlightened!

Oh, and this is when I realized that light radius does not only give you more vision, but it actually makes everything brighter...

Well here is my trick, if it gets dark outside, i use my lightswitch and turn it on, u never get rid of it what happens after, did u? Its getting bright inside my house and i got 200% more, yes MORE light radius around me, so i never ever fall again over my fat cat, if i go for a piss. 😅🙈🤣🤣

Have you got pictures of it in action or a video? I’d be interested to see the difference as well.

I had made a joke about making a light radius "bot" and was told I was dumb. Now I wanna do it again lmao

There’s a ring that gives 30% radius as well that I use (w/ mirror) It tanks my resistances but for finding temple it’s fine. Idr what it’s called, one of the prismatic ring uniques.

It's neat and all,but I'm not giving up 50% of my single target damage from enhanced curses, critical weakness, shock or whatever else I'm using it for.

There’s a light radius appointment you can put on your chakra of sight I forgot what its called tho

I think you can do more with the hybrid Mana Regen + Light Radius on rings and slap Ingenuity, there's that unique ring you can use that also helps because it has way higher value than the modifiers for rings.

There's one last thing you can do to make Light Radius useful for skills and it is to get Cornathaum Vaal Corrupted with the mod that "Increases and Reduction to Light Radius also apply to AoE with 25% - 50% of their value" basically just Wreath of Phrecia from Poe1 but weaker.

less light radius but significantly better play is a talisman with light radius + pounce on swap.

Or, you could turn up the contrast in the options menu
