Don't like dying? Meet the Zero Duration Titan.
This build combines life stacking and a zero duration set-up for 6K life and 20K life regeneration per second. The result is a perpetually-full life bar, immunity to all slows, curses, and elemental ailments, and mapping that feels safer than ever while still getting good clear and boss damage. This definitely isn't the first zero duration build, but it felt sturdier and more natural to me than the other ones I tried, so thought I'd share.
As for costs, I'd recommend this build if you have a budget of about 800D+. This will get you the palm of the dreamer, which is the one absolutely necessary item here, as well as a bursting decay ring to bump up damage.
Here are the basics:
- Health regeneration: Obtain zero duration by getting the Titan's hulking form ascendancy node and then picking up all reduced skill effect duration passives. Next, pair this with a palm of the dreamer shrine scepter that has at least 8% reduced skill effect duration. This brings you to zero total duration, allowing the time of need spirit gem to activate every 0.06 seconds, giving you about 1k health and instantly removing all slows/curses and elemental ailments.
- Health stacking: The biggest sources to health stacking is the veil of the night martyr crown, which gives 50% (or more with corruption) increased life. The Titan ascendancy also gets access to 15% increased life. Four sockets on the body armor will get you another 12% by plugging in the soul core of Jiquani. Annointing to gem enthusiast will get you another 5% life (and 5% movement speed). Other than that, stacking life and strength wherever possible from equipment and the passive tree can get you fairly easily to 5-6k.
- Damage mitigation: With such a big, instantly-replenishing health pool, the main thing to take care of is mitigating damage from potential one-shot kills. The goregirdle belt lets you defend with 2x armor with the only downside being that physical damage reduction maxes at 50%. That downside is fine for this build because anything that doesn't kill you straight out will heal right away. Next, the brass dome body armor gives insane armor and makes it so that you take no extra damage from critical hits. This can be juiced further with the Titan ascendancy node that increases the armor of your body armor by 50%. This stacks with other nodes / modifiers that increases the amount of armor from your body armor.
- Resistances: The veil of the night makes it so that you have 0% elemental resistances. This is fine because we can block elemental damage by mixing armor with percent armor applies to elemental damage. The goregirdle effect of capping at 50% does not apply to elemental damage. Chaos resistance can get maxed through the bursting decay ring (mentioned below) and palm of the dreamer. The result here is effective damage mitigation to elemental and chaos while also freeing up all the suffixes on the items to not focus on getting resistances.
- Damage: The main sources for increasing the flat physical damage are mace and the bursting decay rings. These give 3% of life as added physical damage. With 6k life, each ring gives 180 flat physical damage. Next, increasing maximum rage to 60+ and combining it with berserk gives 100% more damage. There's also a node that gives us increased armor based on rage, so it helps with that too.
- Mapping clear: Mapping clear is achieved by maxing out AOE/freeze build up on weapon set 1, which we can tie to leap slam. Next, we load up herald of ice with increased chaos damage and Uul-Netol's embrace so that it can trigger armor explosion. We also get wind dancer, which allows you to passively deal physical damage when hit. We set up armor break to trigger armor explosion and cold damage to trigger herald of ice. Armor and skill effect speed can be increased with the charge-based spirit passives.
- Boss clear: Here we use earthquake as others have done in zero duration builds. The earthquake will trigger immediately because of that. We tie earthquake to weapon set 2 and replace the AOE passives with high damage passives instead. This deals nice chunks of damage, especially when we apply armor break and get heavy stuns.
