How exactly do the Gacha Boxes work?

I've seen a lot of conflicting information on these boxes and I'd appreciate if anyone could sort this out for me, and ideally provide links with proof.

  1. At the end of the league, what happens to all the MTX for the corresponding box? Does it go to the usual shop for purchase individually or is it gone forever?
  2. Assuming the items disappear with the boxes at the end of the league, do they ever come back? Perhaps in future boxes at "reprints"? Or are they really gone forever?
  3. Is there a way to estimate the expected cost of a specific MTX you're after? E.g. if I want a pet and it's a flat 1% chance, I don't think I can just say $5 per box * 100 boxes = $500, because if I first roll an item with a 5% chance and there's dupe protection then my next roll will improved to 1.053%, which makes the math a little fuzzy and not clear what the expected cost will be.

Items from mystery boxes will be added to the shop later (usually after a league or two), and individual items can be bought at that point. The prices are going to be higher (maybe 100-150?)

If you are trying to get a SPECIFIC item, def do not do the mystery boxes haha, and just wait.

They eventually make it to the shop look at similar items that are currently in shop to get an estimate at what a specific item from the mystery box might cost you if you wait a couple seasons for it to come to the shop. The percents are just the odds of pulling said item but you could get the rarest item from the box on your first pull/last pull/anywhere in between. As far as specific items you just have to hope and get lucky you get them sooner than later or just buy all the boxes to garentee you get them ie xx/xx boxes
