Gain as #% extra as cold or lightning with call of the brotherhood ring?

Trying to figure out which is better on my staff. Extra cold or lightning damage. I use call of the brotherhood but from what I’m understanding cold damage is preferred especially for cold-infused spark and for CoC comet builds. Anyone have insight on this?
