Why doesn't my Sekhema trial fail when I hit 0 honour?

When I got my 3rd set of ascendancy points I hit 0 honour during the boss, killed him, and still got the 2 points. Right now I'm doing the trial for the 4th set and hit 0 honour but can still continue. What am I misunderstanding? I don't have any boons related to this.

The only thing I can think of is the honor bar is bugged and reading 0

Some relics have the modifier that if you reach 0 honor you will automatically get 1 honor point. Maybe that?
