Any tips for Sprinting? (returning player) I've had several deaths because of it..

As the topic mentiones, I was wondering if there are any tips for WASD controlling for sprinting? I died so many times because some input lag prevents me from stopping sprinting before colliding with things or getting hit.

I am not gonna lie, but i much preferred jsut dodge rolling around and not worry about getting stunned for 3seconds and die, is there a way to disable the whole feature?

Possibly any info on if GG is planning something for Sprinting in the future?

Thanks in advance!

Pathfinder has ascendancy where you can't get stunned during sprint. Play that

No way to disable which is annoying because your character also enters the sprint animation and then immediately stumbles at the end of blink 90% of the time. GGG doesn’t think you should sprint unless it’s across areas with no monsters so they included the hard stun with it. You can still just dodge roll if you want to.

I had a lot of trouble with this myself since the stop to attack button doesn't work.

I had to get used to spamming dodge roll to get in and out of sprinting.

You can currently disable sprinting & dodge rolling by taking the keystone Unwavering Stance. I actually have this keystone enabled on my witchhunter after realizing most of my deaths were either caused by light stuns or the occasional accidental sprint in combat.

But no, outside of this keystone there's no way to disable sprint, or decouple it from dodge rolling, to my knowledge.

I'm hoping one or both options will be added in the future, and GGG is most definitely aware of the desire for it among some of us, but I imagine it's a pretty low priority.

Here is a (legal) AutoHotkey macro to disable sprint by making you unable to hold down space on your computer generally: https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile2builds/comments/1qbpda9/comment/nzca9fj/?context=3

Note, it seems to require the older (deprecated) version of AutoHotkey, but AutoHotkey 2 is able to auto download the older version once it detects that the script needs the old version.

Don't forget to Pause Script or close the AutoHotkey script (by default in your system tray) once you're done playing POE2 in case you need to hold down space again in some other context.

I did too until I got Arctic armour. It's well worth it imho. I have 9 stages now and it does a ton of damage and has saved me from dying on numerous occasions.

Nope, but you can exit to character selection and log back in and instantly roll away if you want to save yourself.

Cancel sprints with attacks I guess

You can roll at the end of a sprint to avoid an attack. Helps prevent getting stunned when you're running into mobs.

The reason ggg made sprint suck in combat, is that's not what it's for
