I appreciate the enthusiasm for Chayula. I am a Chayula connoisseur with about 2.4k hours playing Chayula since release. All but my first season build were able to trivialize End Game content (I never played PoE1 and my level of ARPG experience was Torchlight II before this).
I think Chayula shines in its ability to leech from massive chaos damage pool, and its ability to generate insane chaos damage WITHOUT original sin. The meta skills for Qstaff this season are chaining with a herald and breaking armour, and whirling assault. Bossing is typically Flicker, but Falling Thunder also gets used.
The only ability there that really benefits from Original Sin effectively is Falling Thunder. Chayula can stack so much chaos as extra damage right now that Original Sin is entirely unnecessary, and, imho, actually gimps defense or offense.
I’m running Chayula using MoM/EB and abusing remnants. Mana Remnants is extremely powerful ability for this, and utilizing the meta “mana is life, life is mana,” Chayula really hits it out of the park.
Below is my PoB for my iteration of Chayula. He will kill any pinnacle in mere seconds and breeze thru a juiced temple. The temple speed will be lacking compared to a CoC curse build, but that’s the fault of the developers for overlooking and insanely stupid and broken interaction (so much for vision).
One thing I will mention is that if you’re investing into Chaos damage and overlooking Wither you are not doing chaos damage right. Wither is a damage multiplier for chaos damage that also stacks with Shock. Wither magnitude on gloves and tree alone will put multiplier at 1.8x it’s absolutely bananas how good it is.
