Worth it to buy or wait for free access

i’ve never played an arpg but when poe2 initially came out i was really interested and it was gonna be my first arpg, but i then heard it was gonna become free and since i wanted to play it with my friends who had also never played an arpg we all decided to wait for it to become free incase we didn’t like it. We ended up forgetting about this game until recently i’ve began seeing clips of it and the game looks really good, but id be playing it solo as my friends dont want to buy it still. I’m sure a lot of you would say it’s worth it to buy it, but in my case do you guys recommend it? Mainly for me i’m interested because of all the cool weapons, enemies, abilities, and the early game grind. I’m worried about the late game tho, i know arpgs become very min/max spreadsheet simulator and the grind becomes no longer fun and especially since my friends wouldnt be playing with me im not sure if its worth it to buy

Very worth it. $30 is next to nothing as far as games go. Also it could be years before they officially release although I am basing that solely on vibes.

I’m glad I didn’t wait because I just started poe1 just now and the amount of info and content is overwhelming. I’m skipping most of tbh. I imagine that’s how new players will feel when poe2 fully releases.

If you can afford the computer to play it, you can afford the game

If you buy it I'll play it with you. Its worth imo if you're ok with grinding and you think you won't get bored. For the endgame its more like about making your build better or finding gears for other builds you want to try or some unique weapons. Just a single item changes the whole thing and thats what makes this game amazing for me. Hit me up if you're down.

If you have the money to spend, ABSOLUTELY. IF you don't, just wait. But when it's free to play, do not forget about the game. I grew up on StarCraft and Diablo, progressing to others, but this has got to be one of my favorite games ever.

I might be a bit bias…but I think it totally worth it for the price.

Additionally, the game is at its most basic right now, which means it’s easier to learn how to play, figure out synergies, and craft.

A year from now, when it’s free, I totally believe it’ll be a better game, but the barrier for entry will be higher because there will be a ton more content to figure out.

I mean that is the core of an arpg, it generally attracts people who have fun with the grind and min-maxing. That can be something you dont find fun but unfair to call it unfun in general. Id just wait till release since it will be free then, if you don't see yourself enjoying the endgame min max aspect/chasing upgrades/making builds.
