Build feels underwhelming

On paper I do tons of damage I’ve invested a lot of currency into my build. I got a whole fubgun 77 room temple and the loot is good. The issue is when I want to carry more people through it I just feel so weak. My build overall just doesn’t seem to be able to handle the super strong content in temple.

Can anyone point out what I should try to focus on in terms of damage? I also feel like a wet noodle as soon as I get hit. I’ve tried to get a good amount of EV/ES, but doesn’t seem to do the trick.

I always feel depressed when I see these CoC Comet build just one tapping the whole temple in 2 seconds 😅

Make sure you do the killing so you get all the hh stacks

That is the issue with attack builds vs meta caster builds since EA launched.

Significantly harder to gear (harder to make a GG martial weapon, harder to get T1 flats on rings and gloves, etc) and you get a fraction of the clear in full-party content.

I noticed some Path of Exile keywords in this post:

  • CoC - Cast on Critical Strike (trigger mechanic, commonly used with Comet and other spells) (Wiki)
  • ES - Energy Shield (Wiki)

I'm not sure about damage, I haven't played quarterstaves in a minute. But in terms of defense, I could be wrong but I think 4.2k evasion is essentially useless.

Your gear is crazy good. I don't have any valuable input, but I see a lot of high dps invokers are running Hyrri's Ire, they can get 30%+ gain as extra cold on corrupt - may be worth trying if you haven't already.

Coc/comet is definitely broken, hard to compare anything to it right now.

I run Essentia Sanguis and a Flesh Crucible with Vaal Pact on my Flicker Strike build, and as long as I'm attacking I don't have any issues. You could also run a Soul Tether with the "lose %ES per second" line Cultivated off, but then you'd be giving up the HH

Swap out your chestpiece with pure EV one, which will give you more EHP. That will allow you to allocate Cooked which is a stronger dps annoint

2m dps is really low for the temple. You can probably solo it comfortably but I don’t think you’ll be able to carry more than 1 person in a fubgun temple run. You will need around 8-10m dps to be able to carry a full party. I think right now with your dps, you’re not one shotting a lot of the rare monsters. My PF needed over 10m dps to one shot most mobs in the temple

The vertex is extremely underwhelming on builds using attacks. The vertex with its +4 to all skills only gives a 21.55% damage boost. Compared to casters that gain a 74.9% damage boost due to spells scaling differently with +level. That's not to say that attack builds do not have options. Crown of Eyes is extremely strong and not enough people are talking about it. Crown of eyes combined with mystical rage can easily put characters using attacks into the hundreds of millions of DPS. The unfortunate part is that this is more difficult to do starting on the right side of the tree because the good rage nodes are located on the left side of the tree. An example of a crown of eyes build is this: https://poe.ninja/poe2/pob/19f39 . Keep in mind the pob is displaying lower DPS because it's not counting the user as having max rage.

CoC Comet just exists on another level. Don't compare yourself to broken builds.

Tbh, if your damage is lacking with THAT gear then it might just be that your choice of build has reached the ceiling. I'm a bit surprised that your aren't using Garukhan's despite that high of an investment into crit multi. Might also free up passive points for more EV/ES scaling.

You're super squishy; the body armour really doesn't do a lot. Don't know how much Deflection Rating you get, but from my experience anything below 80% feels pretty bad.
