Why do reaper invocation have a manual cast

I am play the Smith whirling assault and wanted to get new move and test some new and I just seen reaper and thought it work like coc or the other mete skill why do it have a manual cast when fire spells on melee exist.

Invocations can be autocast if you use the mouse/keyboard and use the numlock trick (explained in youtube videos).

As a result of their "manual cast", invocation skills require less spirit than the "cast on" skills.

And if invocations are not autocast, that's part of what makes the skill "cast fire spell on hit" good for smith.

Thats how all "invocation" skills work. They reserve less spirit than the cast ons.
