What slows you down the most when managing social media?

I’ve been building a social media management suit for the past year and talking to people recently made me realize something...most tools aren’t really “bad”…they just don’t solve the most annoying parts of the workflow.

For me the most frustrating events I’ve experienced are:

  • jumping between platforms
  • unable to reply to messages/comments quickly
  • rewriting the same content for different platforms
  • trying to figure out what actually worked and what didn’t

But I’m curious how it looks for others here. like what’s the one thing that wastes the most time for you managing socials? Not features...just the actual annoying part of your workflow

The biggest drag for me is “hidden” context switching. Not just hopping between apps, but constantly shifting brain modes: write, design, schedule, answer DMs, pull numbers, explain those numbers to someone who doesn’t get them. Every handoff costs energy.

The other killer is approvals. Chasing people on Slack/email/WhatsApp to say “yeah, post it” wrecks any flow. I’ve wasted full afternoons waiting on a tiny tweak to a caption.

What’s helped a bit is grouping work by “brain mode” instead of platform: one block for writing variants, one block for clipping/formatting, one block just for comments/DMs and Reddit. I use Buffer for simple cross-posting, Notion as the content brain, and lately Pulse for Reddit plus native search to catch brand mentions without living on Reddit 24/7. If your tool can reduce context hops and make approvals painless, that’s the real win, not another calendar view.

Had the same problem last year. Jumping between platforms was eating my whole day. Batching fixed most of it. I do content creation Monday mornings, posting Tuesday afternoons. Took me forever to actually commit to that schedule but once I did things got way easier.

For rewrites I keep a template doc. Same core message, swap out the hook depending on the platform. Nothing fancy. Analytics I've mostly given up on. I track engagement and reach. Everything else felt like busywork unless a client specifically cares.

Password manager for all the logins, too. Dumb tip but it actually cut down the mental friction of switching.

Any people that runs 100 to 10k followers pages (any social media)?

Hey all, I own a business that involves many clients that promote their product, art or website with TikTok (also Instagram, Youtube and Facebook). I want to offer them a way to post their content, or to get content created and posted for them on existing TikTok pages. Basically you got pages in a specific theme (sport, anime, cinema, culture, memes...) and you rent it for a specific period of time. You get paid every month, and all you have to do is basically connecting the account once to our system. You can opt-out anytime you want, you keep the full ownership of the account. That's basically a way to monetize your pages passively. For now I'm doing it myself with my own pages (3 tiktok pages with 500 to 3k followers, and 1 6k subscribers Youtube channel), I made around $800 renting these for less than a month.
