Great analisys, I also think that the first few minutes after posting is the key and I think the algoritm will help or reward you if it sees your post has high value (Likes/replies).
Honestly, I think the "prime time" thing is a bit of a myth now because the algorithms are so interest based rather than chronological. I’ve found that consistency and actual quality matter way more than hitting a specific 9 AM window lol. If the content is good, it’ll find people’s feeds whenever they log on.
I’ve been testing this by shipping 15 to 20 pieces a week lately just to see what sticks. For me, the real unlock wasn't finding the perfect hour, it was just making it faster to produce different formats like carousels and short clips. I usually just batch everything in a tool like Runable since it handles images and videos in one place, then schedule it out and forget about it. Focus on the hook and the value first, and the engagement usually follows regardless of the clock.

That said I’m always a little cautious about asking friends to engage right away. It can help occasionally, but if the audience itself doesn’t respond the reach usually drops after that first push anyway.
What’s worked better for me is just focusing on the hook and clarity of the post. If the first line makes people stop scrolling the engagement tends to happen naturally.

I followed an Instagram page, @thingsinmicrowave because it was cool seeing random stuff in a microwave. But about 8 hours ago they posted a video of them microwaving an alive cockroach, the full thing. I understand it’s a cockroach but it’s sick and twisted to do this and then post it. I reported it to insta but the report came back with the content still being allowed on the app. I can’t be the only one who thinks this is wrong right? Like I said I know it’s a bug and most people kill them with a shoe or something, but to catch it, put it in the microwave, edit it and post it, and not once think “this is wrong” is crazy to me.
Hi everyone, I'm a wlw couple content creator and I'm very puzzled about my recent engagement. I've been posting high quality videos like always, and most of them are getting a staggering 90 likes in the first 300 views, literally within 5 minutes. Then, just out of nowhere, the views suddenly slow down and it stops getting pushed despite immediate and very active engagement. For context, I first started posting in February, and since my very first video (which hit 1M views within a week) literally every single thing I posted would always hit at least 10k and on average 40k views within a day or two, and regularly over 100k as well. Recently, the account died (every new video stuck at 0 views, impossible to fix) so I started a new account. I'm very confused, because I post the exact same things: around 7 second long wlw jokes/relatable content. Basically every video I post goes on the same trajectory that on my old account would always lead to popularity - over 60 likes in 300 views/couple minutes - but then randomly gets frozen in the middle of doing very well. I have checked my analytics and they are exactly the same on both accounts, which should imply that my new videos should do exactly as well as my old videos. But for some mysterious untraceable reason they're getting blocked. How do I resolve this? Does anyone else have experience with this? One more thing is these prompts saying stuff like "Your content's fire-just needs more viewers. • Spend £9 get 26377 views" pop up under all of my new videos. Is it possible that they're freezing my views as some sort of strategy to get me to pay them? Any insights are appreciated. Thanks!
I'm an architect, run a lifestyle/work blog and have a professional IG where I sometimes post about work life or repost other videos that I've been featured in. Used to have \~4k followers, but got harassed/had unfounded negative comments posted about me a few months back which really spooked me (it escalated to a police report). I deactivated my professional IG after that. The deactivation hasn't impacted my work since I'm not reliant on IG for getting clients. But I'm also involved in content creation (I also work as a podcast host) and am writing a book (already have a publisher), so I'm wondering if there's a need to maintain a public social media presence for the sake of promoting creative content? Or will I still somehow be able to have an audience and enough people to buy my book without social media? My mental health and anxiety levels are so much better ever since I've deactivated it, but I'm just worried about losing out on an audience for my creative work by not being on IG. Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks!
