Bryan Cranston trying to explain how his daughter was not a nepo hire on Breaking Bad

“Setting up the casting” part is the Nepo part. I’m glad he had her audition and make it somewhat fair. But the hardest part is getting the audition and he made that happen for her.

I also don’t have a problem with actor’s kids falling in their footsteps if they have the talent.

Meh. She got one line in a show. I’m ok with the main actor’s kid having one line as long as she does a decent job at it.

Like they weren't gonna hire her after he orchestrated a fake audition? 😂

She’s very, very good on ‘The Pitt’, assuming it’s the same daughter.

That said, this casting in ‘Breaking Bad’ is the definition of a nepotism hire and honestly it makes it SO much worse his long winded BS defense of it here.

I like Cranston’s work a lot so this is really disappointing.

Does Bryan (and others) think it's only nepotism if they make the casting decision themselves?

Like, they don't realise the weight their names carry, or the benefits of connections they've made?

No casting director is going to tell Bryan Cranston his kid isn’t good enough.

I mean, its not like she was handed her own series for this audition. Are we really trying to be worked up over this?

She's actually a really good actress. I saw her on The Pitt and had no idea she was his daughter until I read it somewhere. She's my favorite character on the show.
