OP, do you not realize that the kids who signed up and won our wars have ALWAYS been the poorest and least educated amongst us? Why do you think they sign up in the first place? There’s a reason that recruiters go to poor neighborhoods and underfunded areas to set up inside high school cafeterias to sign these kids up.

We had a recruiter go from class to class every single year in high school, right after spring break. He and his co-recruiter had a table inside of my high school every day for at least a month every year.
