I'm super picky about the writing style of authors. If I don't vibe with it, I don't read it. I've tried a couple times to make myself read something that sounded really compelling, but no matter how good the concept, if I can't get with the author's style? It's just not gonna happen.
Lol, "you can just flip to the last page read the conclusion and be like that's enough"
And winston said, i love big brother. The end.
"Oh damn, i guess big brother really isn't bad, i hope they won that war too."
I’m cautious of people who make videos like this while driving
I have a friend who works in publishing and he told me that the vast majority of books that come in to be published should be between 50 and 100 pages, and often are before they get stretched and changed because statistically people are willing to pay the most for around 2 to 300 pages. Everything is a fucking scam.
I’m kinda the same, some books I give up half way through because I realise I don’t like it
But when you got that good book, the one that keeps you up all night trying to finish it, that’s the good stuff
I read about 100 books per year through Libby and I 100 percent agree that if the book stinks, move on. I do think if I paid for them it may be more motivation to read to the end though.
There’s this one author that I enjoy that drags on and on to the point it’s painful, but the endings are always amazing so I press on.
Hell yes. I whole heartedly agree.
I love to read! I've finished countless books. I've also started and not finished countless books. Don't waste time on something you don't enjoy.
Sunk Cost Fallacy. My life has gotten a lot better once I realized I didn’t need to finish boring books or movies.
So then she doesn’t read so many books, she has read some pages out of a lot of books. No shame, just don’t tell somebody you read a book if you only read 10 pages of it.
