The lights were on, but no one was home

I was at these amateur muay Thai fights in the 3rd row. The fighter that died, everyone thought he was faking being tired bcuz he was losing. And people started booing him when they put him on a stretcher after the fight. It wasn't until the next morning I found out he died and had sickle cell. There's a very good video on everything that went wrong.

Why they booing💀

This is why I stopped watching combat sports. I used to be a huge boxing fan when I was a kid, but then i realized just how predatory it is to the athletes.

It lures in many poor kids with the promise that they will make it big and become rich and famous. But for every Manny Pacquiao, there's thousands of fighters who, at best, retire because of a minor injury early. At worst, they end up dead or with life-changing permanent disabilities, and none of the money or fame to go with it.

The whole industry is predatory as fuck.
