This is a massive "system override" of normal hospital operations. When a facility can no longer provide safety, the move to airlift patients is the ultimate contingency protocol. The technical execution needed to keep these life-support systems synchronized during transit is incredible. It’s a somber reminder of how fragile our infrastructure can be, but also how resilient and dedicated the medical staff are to ensure no "node" in the system is left behind. Something similar happened in Pittsburgh's Shadyside Hospital, where a local rich prick complained about the noise of helicopters flying over their house that they redirect them to approach from the opposite side. Insane amount of self-centeredness.
