Cops confirmed a collision involving a horse and cart and two cars in Katherine’s Way, Harlow, at around 6.30pm on Tuesday.

An Essex police spokesperson said: “Our enquiries are on-going.”

John Reilly, founder of the Gypsy Traveller League, claimed it was a Traveller who was on the horse and trap at the time of the incident.

He took to social media and claimed the “young lad” was knocked off by another driver after speaking to one of his family members.

“A young lad was out trotting his horse on his own, doing 10-15mph, trying to stretch the horse’s legs,” he said.

“A man has come along, has hit the cart and flipped the lad out of the cart.”

John continued to say it “could have ended very differently” and “I can confirm he is okay”.

“After the impact, the horse was spooked and ran off in fear which led to another incident involving a car,” he added.

So some asshole driver hit the buggy, knocking it over and spooking the horse. No word on whether or not the horse is ok. :(
