I tested 10 TikTok content ideas that are trending right now, here’s what actually worked.

I’ve been trying to grow a TikTok account over the last few weeks and kept getting stuck at low views, so I decided to test different content formats that are trending right now.

Instead of guessing, I posted consistently and tracked which types of videos actually performed better.

Here are a few that surprisingly worked:

“Nobody talks about this…”

These did way better than expected. The more honest and slightly uncomfortable the topic, the higher the watch time.

Expectation vs Reality (short version)

Super simple but effective. The key is making it fast (under 10 seconds) and a bit exaggerated.

What didn’t work (for me at least):

Your results hint at Social Media Engagement 101, which is that the most engaging emotions are anger and fear. People respond when they feel there's some injustice or incorrectness happening. So when you say "Nobody talks about this..." you'll immediately get a million people responding with some form of, "Dude WFT everybody talks about that."

It all depends what your goals are. Views and engagement aren't hard to farm if that's all you want. But meaningful engagement/interaction is much harder. Most businesses, for example, actually need people to convert, so "going viral" is cool but ultimately meaningless unless it leads to purchases, etc.

Honestly, one of the most underrated tips is replying to every comment in the first hour after you post. It signals to the algorithm that your content is driving conversation, which helps keep it in that initial “test” phase longer.

Also, don’t ignore trending audio. On platforms like Instagram or TikTok, using audio early, while it’s still gaining traction, can give you a big reach advantage.

The bigger mindset shift is to stop aiming for perfect and focus on consistency. The more you post, the faster you get feedback on what works. After a batch of posts, patterns start to show, and that’s what you double down on.

Any people that runs 100 to 10k followers pages (any social media)?

Hey all, I own a business that involves many clients that promote their product, art or website with TikTok (also Instagram, Youtube and Facebook). I want to offer them a way to post their content, or to get content created and posted for them on existing TikTok pages. Basically you got pages in a specific theme (sport, anime, cinema, culture, memes...) and you rent it for a specific period of time. You get paid every month, and all you have to do is basically connecting the account once to our system. You can opt-out anytime you want, you keep the full ownership of the account. That's basically a way to monetize your pages passively. For now I'm doing it myself with my own pages (3 tiktok pages with 500 to 3k followers, and 1 6k subscribers Youtube channel), I made around $800 renting these for less than a month.
