Problems started at Mormon. 

That’s why I tell people who want to be stay-at-home moms to have solid work experience and education before making that decision. Get established first, and absolutely negotiate a prenup that actually protects you. Otherwise, you risk losing financial independence if things change. I used to work with a doctor who quit her job to become a stay-at-home mom, so it can work, but you shouldn’t go into it with nothing to fall back on. Imagine getting envelopes of money from your husband because you’re not even allowed to have your own bank account. Tf.

I saw another story time about a couple who met in law school and were both in their final year. He convinced her to drop out and become a stay-at-home mom while he finished. He passed the bar, and about 15 years later, he left her.

I also saw one where a woman put her husband through law school. He then landed a job at a top prestigious firm and later left her for a much younger woman.

Stay at home mom + oppressive abusive religion = bad time.

This isn’t about being a single mom. It’s about being trapped in a fucked up cult.

A degree to middle manage at a windscreen company? Your job market is fucked.
