I went to a local trade and got the same treatment fory Pikachu loving kid.
He's 9 and asked me to bring him because he wanted to buy a specific Pokemon for an 8 year old friend and when they heard why he wanted a character, ALL the tables offered him a free card....
Sharing the love of collecting and tips and tricks...I was blown away by their kindness and surprised at the sense of community.
Tears came walking to the car, and I had to explain happy tears to my boy. Worth it.

I'm still blindsided by the contrast between Enthusiasts doing their thing at trading conventions and the manchildren snatching pallets of pokemon cards to scalp.
