If the videos were posted as IG Stories/Reels and you don't have the originals on the phone, screen recording the archive may be the only clean way to recover the exact clips. A few things I'd check before settling for that:
- phone gallery + recently deleted, especially if you recorded in the IG camera
- Instagram archive, then try saving each story/reel back to camera roll before screen recording
- Download Your Information from Instagram if the archive export has a cleaner copy
- anyone at the table/restaurant who may have caught short clips or photos
For the restaurant deliverable, you can still make it feel intentional: use the recovered clips as texture, add menu/food stills, and do a voiceover like “I went for happy hour, here's what I'd order again.” I'd also tell the restaurant plainly that some originals didn't save and you're rebuilding the recap rather than pretending nothing happened. Most local places care more that the post is useful and flattering than that every clip is real-time footage.
