Has AI-generated content changed how you consume social media?
Is anyone else getting tired of AI-generated content on social media?
Lately I've noticed that a huge amount of content on social media seems to be AI-generated or heavily AI-assisted. This includes marketing posts, news summaries, explainer videos, and even content from small pages and local reporters.
I don't have a problem with AI itself. I use technology every day and I understand why people use these tools. But as a reader and viewer, I find a lot of this content difficult to consume.
Many posts feel longer than they need to be, with extra information added that doesn't really help. The writing style also seems very similar across different accounts, almost like everyone is using the same template.
The same thing happens with videos. A lot of creators are using AI voices, AI visuals, and constant animations. Instead of making the content more engaging, I often find it distracting and sometimes even irritating.
Because of this, I've actually reduced the amount of informational content I watch on social media. I find myself skipping videos and posts much more often than I used to.
Maybe this is just my personal preference, or maybe I'm looking at it from a developer's perspective. I'm genuinely curious whether others feel the same way or if most people actually prefer this style of content.
Have your content consumption habits changed because of the rise of AI-generated content, or am I in the minority here?
