It’s not really historically accurate to say that the current government and/or people of Iranian are thousands of years old when this current regime has very little ties and lineage to the ancient Sassinids, Persians, and lineage of Cyrus the great.

In fact, this current regime actively rejects the pre-Islamic past after their revolution.

This would be like saying the current people of Germany have a 2k year old lineage all the way back to the Battle of Teutoburg Forrest against the Romans. There had been a lot of movement religiously, physically, ethnically, and politically since then.

Edit: I don’t know how long the term has been around, but the Persian language is referred to as Farsi nowadays.

Using the length of time something has been around as an argument for being right/correct is never the best way to go about things.

I have some real problems with the way she's laying it out as in either or scenario.

America can exist and Iran can exist Israel can exist and a Palestinian state can exist...

The problem is people vote with zero nuance on any of these subjects and think they can just take their emotions to the voting booth and come out with a good outcome
