Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I still love long stories. I also love AI. I don't think we should have to choose between the two.

I've been thinking about social media growth lately.

For years, the advice seemed simple:

Post more.
Be consistent.
Publish every day.

Now everyone is doing that.

Everyone is trying to be different.

Everyone is trying to go viral.

Everyone is creating content.

Even "being different" feels crowded.

Yeah, but usually there’s still some kind of compounding thing. The ones I’ve seen grow without daily posting had a format people recognized, or they were just annoyingly good in replies/DMs. Posting less works when people remember why to come back; otherwise it’s just silence with nicer branding.

The accounts I’ve seen grow without daily posting tend to have at least one of these working:

  • A recognizable format people can describe in one sentence. Not just “good posts,” but a repeatable thing they come back for.
  • Strong distribution outside the feed: newsletter, search, community, partnerships, speaking, podcasts, etc.
  • Comments/replies that are good enough to become the content. Some people build more trust in threads than in posts.
  • Fewer, deeper pieces that get reused well: one essay becomes a carousel, short clips, screenshots, a discussion prompt, and a follow-up.

Daily posting can help you learn faster, but it’s not the same as being memorable. I’d rather see someone publish 2-3 things a week with a clear point of view and actually distribute them than post every day into the void.

It doesn't look impressive from the outside because there aren't hundreds of posts, but the audience they build is often much stronger.

Any people that runs 100 to 10k followers pages (any social media)?

Hey all, I own a business that involves many clients that promote their product, art or website with TikTok (also Instagram, Youtube and Facebook). I want to offer them a way to post their content, or to get content created and posted for them on existing TikTok pages. Basically you got pages in a specific theme (sport, anime, cinema, culture, memes...) and you rent it for a specific period of time. You get paid every month, and all you have to do is basically connecting the account once to our system. You can opt-out anytime you want, you keep the full ownership of the account. That's basically a way to monetize your pages passively. For now I'm doing it myself with my own pages (3 tiktok pages with 500 to 3k followers, and 1 6k subscribers Youtube channel), I made around $800 renting these for less than a month.
