I've Tried Every AI Content Tool and They All Have the Same Problem

I manage social for a few clients and started using AI to help with post ideas. It's been more frustrating than helpful honestly. Every week it's the same suggestions, no memory of what I already posted, and the generated graphics look so obviously fake that my clients keep complaining. Meanwhile they still want more content pushed out, more frequently.

What I actually need is something that looks at what already performed well, remembers what's been posted so nothing gets repeated, and pulls in what's actually trending right now. Is there any app or even a Claude skill that does this? What are you guys using?

For hospitality clients, I’d separate this into a workflow problem more than a “find the perfect AI tool” problem.

The tools get repetitive because they usually only see the prompt you gave them today. What has worked better for me is keeping a small “memory” doc per client with:

  • the last 30-60 posts and what actually got saves/comments/bookings
  • recurring content pillars, but with examples of posts that already worked
  • banned repeats so you don’t accidentally pitch the same brunch/seasonal idea again
  • real differentiators: menu items, staff, local events, venue quirks, customer questions

Then use AI only against that context: “give me 10 variations that fit pillar X, avoid anything in the repeat list, and tie 3 of them to current local events/weather/seasonality.”

For graphics, I’d be careful with fully AI-generated visuals for restaurants/hotels. They often feel fake because people expect the food/space to be real. A phone photo library plus AI for captions/angles usually performs better than synthetic-looking creatives.

So if you’re evaluating apps, I’d look less for “generates posts” and more for: can it remember prior posts, ingest performance data, keep a client-specific idea bank, and make reuse obvious before you publish.

Some of what you're mentioning I think is always going to be something you as the social media manager needs to do with your own brain. And why is repeating content not something you want to do? If it worked, I think it's worth repeating.

But I use Enji to plan all my social media content (alongside all my other marketing). And it has an AI copywriter that gives ideas so I can pretty quickly get caption drafts to schedule from there as well. But one of the most helpful things is how Enji shows me my best and worst performing posts for the past 90 days so I can repurpose the ones that have been working best or put a new spin on them.

Yep, that’s common, most AI tools churn out generic or hallucinated content because they lack context, a retrieval layer, and an editorial strategy
Try a tight brief with voice examples, connect the model to your own knowledge base, treat the output as a draft, and always add quick human edits and fact-checks so it actually resonates

  1. You are assuming that there are infinite number of “trending ideas” you can pull from, where you won’t have to ever repeat the same idea. Have you actually done the math?

There are 365 days a year. Let’s say you wanted to post a new idea every day. Do you really think there are 365 content ideas that are “trending right now” that fit your client’s niche and audience that you can pull from every single day without repeating any of them?

  1. Repetition is how you get your message and your brand to stick. There’s a reason why commercials don’t run once, comedians don’t tell the same joke once, and restaurants don’t change their menu every week.

You have to be willing to repeat the same idea a few times (in many different ways) so that the audience understands who you are.

  1. What you’re describing has already been tried several times by weekend warriors, and the only thing it produces is a nice demo that gets you excited for a week or two. It doesn’t survive real-world production because the logic is flawed.

You can’t pull 365 content ideas that are “trending right now” in every niche without making sh!t up to avoid “repeating yourself”, or without pulling trending ideas from irrelevant niches/communities that will make your client’s look like clowns with irrelevant posts.

Any people that runs 100 to 10k followers pages (any social media)?

Hey all, I own a business that involves many clients that promote their product, art or website with TikTok (also Instagram, Youtube and Facebook). I want to offer them a way to post their content, or to get content created and posted for them on existing TikTok pages. Basically you got pages in a specific theme (sport, anime, cinema, culture, memes...) and you rent it for a specific period of time. You get paid every month, and all you have to do is basically connecting the account once to our system. You can opt-out anytime you want, you keep the full ownership of the account. That's basically a way to monetize your pages passively. For now I'm doing it myself with my own pages (3 tiktok pages with 500 to 3k followers, and 1 6k subscribers Youtube channel), I made around $800 renting these for less than a month.
