I am a game developer setting up socials for my new game, is it better to rebrand to the new game, or start fresh?

I am an artist making a new game and wondering if I should keep my original account, which is my professional art account, and rebrand it (change icons, username, etc), or start a fresh account for the game. I don't have a large following but its about 3k on X which honestly took years to build up. I think the audience would have a a large overlap as it's covering largely the same content, with more of a focus on this game. Thoughts?

Keep the personal art account and start a separate one for the game. Your art followers are there for YOU. If you rebrand, half will unfollow because they didn't sign up for game marketing.

The two accounts can cross-promote, and you keep both audiences intact.

I would not fully rebrand the art account into the game unless you are sure this game is going to be your main identity for a long time.

A good middle path is:

  1. Keep the existing art account as your personal creator account.
  2. Start a separate account for the game name.
  3. Use the art account to post devlog-style updates, concept art, process clips, character design, lessons learned, and occasional game milestones.
  4. Use the game account for more polished trailers, feature clips, launch updates, patch notes, and community-facing posts.

The reason is that your 3k followers probably followed your taste and process, not a single unreleased game. If you rebrand too hard, you risk losing the personal connection you already built. But if you only use the art account, future players who just want updates about the game may have a harder time following along.

I’d cross-post lightly at first and watch which content gets saves, replies, and profile clicks. If the audiences overlap as much as you expect, both accounts will help each other without forcing one account to do two jobs.

Any people that runs 100 to 10k followers pages (any social media)?

Hey all, I own a business that involves many clients that promote their product, art or website with TikTok (also Instagram, Youtube and Facebook). I want to offer them a way to post their content, or to get content created and posted for them on existing TikTok pages. Basically you got pages in a specific theme (sport, anime, cinema, culture, memes...) and you rent it for a specific period of time. You get paid every month, and all you have to do is basically connecting the account once to our system. You can opt-out anytime you want, you keep the full ownership of the account. That's basically a way to monetize your pages passively. For now I'm doing it myself with my own pages (3 tiktok pages with 500 to 3k followers, and 1 6k subscribers Youtube channel), I made around $800 renting these for less than a month.
