I noticed this, there was a pattern in behavior too that is clearly planned. The headlines were initially as she described, click bait, with the proper context in the article. Then a few hours later once shared virally, the headlines were changed to give more context.
This isn't an accident, it is not unintentional, it is not the author being misinformed. This is planned engagement farming, it is manipulation and organizations like the BBC who did it should be taken to task.
No, the people who write these headlines should be sentenced.
Misleading the public or straight-up lying should be a crime punishable by prison time.
How did it end up like this?
If this man was any other race my god the news papers and headlines would be insane. Horrible.
He assaulted her.
Why even need a "new law" for this?
Anyone who writes seggs instead of sex needs to be tarred and feathered
Im pretty sure the original video didnt have this music running in the background!
Reminds me a while back as well, when the Mannosphere was running around saying that Feminists waste their time on useless things, and used the example of an article titled "Feminists say Air Conditioning is sexist!"
The actual study in that article was a very interesting dive into the different anatomies of men and women when it comes to temperature regulation, and the different standards placed that affect people's ability to focus at work (ex. Men's required business wear tends to require warmer clothes, men are more comfortable at warmer temperatures, so office spaces tend to be run very cold. Meanwhile, women tend to prefer warmer temperatures and their required business wear often requires colder clothes, and their clothes are often made with less warm material).
It wasn't "AC is sexist", it was "Looking at things from the default of what works best for the average man often negatively affects the average woman in ways we don't realise."
God, these headlines read like neanderthal speak. "Man go jail when ask woman for kiss. This first time." But seriously, this hurts men, too. When I read this, it really sounds like they're trying to make it so that men can't approach women at all. Like, that's ridiculous and obviously not what any of this is about, but men are already discouraged from approaching women in general, and now you're telling me you can get arrested for asking for a kiss? So stupid.
Second time this week I've seen the BBC doing this and being called out. Absolute mouthpiece for the right wing at this point.
