I wouldn’t build the routine around “keeping the algorithm happy.” That turns into busywork pretty fast. I’d build it around signals that actually help the account: replying to people, learning what your audience is reacting to, and making sure good posts get an initial conversation going.

For accounts that already have size, a practical minimum could be:

• 10 minutes before posting: look at recent comments, common questions, and 5 to 10 posts from people in the niche so the post is not going out in a vacuum.
• 20 to 30 minutes after posting: reply quickly to real comments, pin or clarify if people misunderstand the post, and turn good replies into future post ideas.
• 10 minutes later in the day: clean up DMs/comments and save patterns you are seeing.

I would not like/comment just to create activity. It is easy to make the account look spammy, especially across several platforms. The more useful habit is making sure every post has someone monitoring the first hour and that repeated questions become content prompts.

If reach drops when you stop engaging, it is usually less “the app punished me” and more that fewer early conversations are happening around the post.
