Yup. I love seeing people happy like this. Americans are really shining so far with the acceptance and hospitality I see online.

I am in DFW, right near one of the host arenas. In fact I walked past that arena to go to a Rangers game today. It was amazing. Loved seeing all the different people, everyone here to enjoy the same thing. There were a ton of Japanese and Swiss people at the Rangers game too. I love the tourists. It makes everything feel cooler and more important, and if we can show them a positive side of American hospitality, I am all for it.  

As a Texan who’s very much embarrassed of my country rn this is some real wholesome stuff.

America does not play when it comes to food. We have table snacks and apps and big portions bc the intention is that one leaves a restaurant hungry. As a petite woman I usually end up with food enough for two meals. Not to mention, we have immigrants from every corner of the world who have brought their culture and influenced ours in the best ways possible.

Stuff is pretty bleak right now in the US, but food is something we definitely have a lock on. THIS is who we really are, not whatever circus we have going on at the top. Food is such an important cultural touchstone across the world, something to bond over making and eating. A reason to gather and share and talk and laugh. So it’s such a heartwarming thing to be able to show the world ❤️

No one was thinking that American Citizens were going to be unwelcoming to guests. It’s that the government is making it harder for the teams, referees, and other support staff that make it possible to host a World Cup are being unfairly treated. I hope Iran wins the whole thing for how petty Donald Trump is as a human.

I just watched a video on the prices and this made me feel a little better.

but tl;dr of the video: the world cup is not okay. It's infected with American culture aka big sporting events are only for the super wealthy. that means little timmy from scotland can't watch Scotland play because the US has no regulation on the prices of anything regarding events like this.

it sucks but i'm glad tourists are finding their own fun. bars are also great places to watch games with fans. =)
