These planes are adjusted and reconfigured to water bomb like this. It's really dangerous and takes a skilled pilot to do it. Heroes.

Is it orange/red because it has fire retardant chemicals and that's just the colour of it. Or is it dyed orange/red for visual/safety reasons?

I got dropped on by one of these guys one time. The retardant sucks to have on your skin. Funny part was that one of these crew members left their window open and got retardant all over the inside of the buggy.

"Terrain terrain. Pull up. Pull up."

They change the alarm settings in those planes, you don't want a pilot distracted by alarms that aren't conveying useful information. Instead of calling out "terrain" they call out vertical separation until they change it back into normal flight mode with the alarms re-enabled
