They took the trees and sold us back the fruit

Do realise that, exploding the environment, the people, the resources, THE FUCKING PLANET for short-term profit sucks?  Can we start organise against this system?!

I literally just had this conversation a couple of days ago. The only thing they haven't quite yet figured out how to monetize is the air we breathe. Can't live without, but neither can you live without water yet they've monetized that one pretty effectively. Think potable water is easy to find and free, try being homeless or living out of your car. But I'm sure Big Brother and his henchmen Tech Titans are working on it as we speak....

The works of the roots of the vines, of the trees, must be destroyed to keep up the price, and this is the saddest, bitterest thing of all. Carloads of oranges dumped on the ground. The people came for miles to take the fruit, but this could not be. How would they buy oranges at twenty cents a dozen if they could drive out and pick them up? And men with hoses squirt kerosene on the oranges, and they are angry at the crime, angry at the people who have come to take the fruit. A million people hungry, needing the fruit – and kerosene sprayed over the golden mountains. And the smell of rot fills the country.

Here's another thing to be mad about -90% of land used for logging is sprayed with pesticides to prevent anything but the new trees from growing back. They are gutting out our biodiversity for the 2% faster growth time in the trees.

As cringe as it is:

The way things are these days, I'm surprised there aren't moreime this guy. Critical thinkers driven mad by the nonsense world we live in and the people that occupy it.
