"You need to respect everyone's beliefs!" No tf I do not.

Ugh, this is like everything wrong with American politics, distilled into the single stupidest hoax. The Wikipedia article just enrages me.
Had an argument with my father a year ago about immigration.
He told me he “believed 100,000 immigrants come to this country a day” and I told him to find me one statistic to prove that.
He looked.
Never found one.
Returned with “I still believe it.”
It’s all emotional fantasy land with conservatives.
Spread this as far as we can. I can't stand having to explain this to everyone I know. "WeLL My fRiend says his mom told him and she works at a school-" fuck right off.
I call them feelings, because an beliefs or an opinion needs to be backed up with something. Your feelings don't.
Perfectly summarizes American politics: deathly serious problems fall to the wayside in favor of fabricated scapegoats used to distract and divide the masses.
We already have a word for a true belief: knowledge. If you redefine 'belief' to include truth, then we just need a new word for when people believe ~~false things~~ things with unknown truth value.
I have friends like this at work and I live in California.
There was a power outage lately, we are all talking about how shitty it was.
Then one of the guys that knows I have an EV decided to take a shot at me because he has an oversized truck and it costs him $200 to fill up now so he is butthurt, and this is all somehow leftists fault blah blah blah.
He says "I heard you EV boys can't charge up at all when this happens, doesn't that thing need to be charged everyday since it barely gets you around town? Ya stranded?" As he laughs at his own joke with all the other red, potato shaped KKKevins in my office.
Actually KKKevin, my EV can connect to my grid via V2H and power my home up to 5 days, and after the last 2 days of outages, I'm still at 65% charge, enough to last me driving the rest of the week without charging.
"I don't believe that" "That's not what I heard"
Blah blah blah.
I just told him have fun filling up your tank and I walked off 🤡
You really can't help these dumb asses, best to just let them rot in their own hell.
This shit has never made sense to me. I feel like the people spreading these rumors don't remember what children are like.
If there were children running around identifying as animals and using litterboxes in school, with other kids running around with cell phones, there would be some sort of evidence of this happening at all. Instead the only "evidence" anyone ever hears about this is their cringey Republican uncle who spends too much time on Facebook saying that he's got a buddy whose barber's sister's neighbor's cousin is a school teacher and they say it's happening.
Who the fuck is buying this shit and why are they still allowed to vote?
My sister the teacher: "they think we're teaching kids to be trans...we can't even get them to read"
Do you remember the time that the US government forced every US household to install a chimney large enough for a person to go down because the President believes in Santa Claus?
Of course you don't, because that would be fucking absurd. Feels like this level of absurdity is very present in about 95% of the shit Republican's get 'outraged' about these days.
