I quit a job at sams club 3 days in because I wouldn't participate in a daily chant/dance in the mornings.
There is nothing more humiliating as a 30 year old man trying to provide for a family.
My job was to cut meat... I never had to be seen by customers. It was so unnecessary to pull us out there and do that.
I just died of secondhand embarrassment
It worked at his church
I feel sad for everyone involved 😬
Great post. This genuinely made my face reflexively cringe
waltons rather waste 10 minutes of everyone's time doing this shit and not just pay everyone a little more lol
I worked for a very short time at Walmart and they'd do a hype meeting before shift and make people do a YMCA-style dance like we were in kindergarten.
The worst was if you're the fourth person, you had to be the "squiggle" in Wal-Mart. Everyone would have to call out their letter and the "squiggle" would have to wiggle and twist and shout "Squiggle!" The only people who cared about this were the managers and the Karens who worked out front. They acted like it was the most fun they'd ever had.
When I first started, all the cashier Karens acted so excited to have a new member of the "family." When they learned I was going to be an unloader, their entire attitude would become sour towards you and they'd ignore you and treat you like some kind of Morlock.
That place was soul crushing.
Walmart execs are so disconnected. Worked at Walmart for 2 weeks and night we had to chant spelling Walmart. I have no idea why this is a thing to "motivate" employees. The only motivation anyone needs is fair pay. But they will do everything else except that. Glad i moved on from that shit hole. Screw Walmart
