Anybody else think that guy wasn't dead?

As a culture we do not deal with death and dying. I got into a career in healthcare in my 30s, and the shift was dramatic. Being faced with suffering, loss, and death all the time gives you a beautiful perspective on your life but it also makes you realize most people go throughout their lives with blinders on. Tell your people you love them

So live in the moment without worry for the future nor concern for the past. Live for the now and every moment you have with friends and loved ones.

Death has never been an avoidance for me. I say that because my dad took me out hunting as a boy and because I killed lots of things, saw them bleed, suffer, and die I was confronted with all this at a very early age. So...now I'm an RN in Psych and Surgery. I've seen the depths of insanity, addiction, disease, and I've done compressions on corpses.

I really don't understand how people need to be 'confronted with death' or 'death is something we don't want to talk about'. I see so many people go through life not wanting to make things right, or avoid hard conversations, until it's 'too late'.

Bro, call them. Treasure every moment as the present. You never know anything will be your last time. Last time walking, last time breathing without pain, last time with your friend group, even last time at the bar you go to. And, be confident in the people you never wanna see again. I know one person I cut out of my life and I am CERTAIN I will not shed a tear when they're dead.

What's the song in the background? Unable to shazam it.

It has to be insanely difficult to confront your own mortality as an occupation, on a daily basis.
