This is closer to old school country/ mountain music. Before the anti establishment music was named folk and split off the country thing.

There’s a massive amount of current indie country and folk music, aka Americana, that shares this progressive sentiment. See Jason Isbell, Will Hoge, Steve Earl, Tyler Childers, Jesse Welles, Zach Bryan, Kinky Friedman, Sturgill Simpson, S.G. Goodman, Todd Snider, etc.
Also, many of the classic Americana artists: Cash, Prine, Willie, Kris Kristofferson, Waylon, etc.
