Need to grow my boss' IG brand but my boss refuses to do nothing

I'm a CM of several brands and my main work is to create content and grow social of every brand that I work for. I'm not an incredibly CM but brands grow as time passes and I'm proud to see how my efforts are actually working.

But there is a problem with one brand. It is an IG account of management from indie groups thant shares news from those groups that the brand is in charge to manage.
The problem is that the manager, and my boss, doesn't want to do anything, refuses new content, refuses to create reels, refuses original or exclusive content from those bands that will catch new followers or engagement.

He just wants to reupload posters or singles from the bands one day later. Just like a newspapaper: "X group has just upload a single. Go to X to listen it!" and thats all.

There is no problem with that if he wants just to share news and this is his only wish. The problem is that he is obssesed to reach 5K followers before the year ends.

I've told him that we can't gain 3k followers in 5 months without strategy, without original content or witouth some exclusive content that allows pepople follow the management account. He just insist that he would like to post like 1-2 posts per month and repost the news from the bands. That's all.

I'm afraid to loose my job in the agency because I manage some personal IG accounts from those groups in the agency. If he fires me, I will lost all the CM work of the music groups, not only de IG account from the agency.

How I can gain followers doing NOTHING?? I've tried to explain to him, but it's impossible, he don't want to upload more content, he just insists that he only wants to reach more followers. Just. Followers. (Trust me, I've told him 1million times that more followers=creative streategy, not reposting boring content).

I'm planning to buy followers, I know the algorithm will ban me but I don't know what to do I'm pretty lost.
