AI influencers are getting more realistic, but somehow more boring
I’ve been looking at a lot of AI influencer accounts lately and I keep noticing the same thing.
The images are getting better. Faces are more consistent, videos look more natural, and some of them could genuinely pass as real at first glance.
But most of the accounts still feel empty.
It’s usually just the same attractive character in different places with captions like “missing summer” or “which outfit do you prefer?”
After a while there’s no real reason to follow. You’ve already seen the whole idea after three posts.
I think people are putting too much effort into making the character look real and not enough effort into making the character interesting.
Even if the person is virtual, there still needs to be some kind of identity, story, niche, opinion, or ongoing thing that makes people curious about the next post.
For example, “AI model posting lifestyle photos” is pretty forgettable.
But “virtual fashion designer building her first collection in public” at least gives the account somewhere to go.
Maybe realism gets people to stop scrolling, but it doesn’t automatically make them care.
Would you ever follow a virtual influencer if the content was genuinely good, or does knowing it’s AI ruin it for you?
