How do some accounts have videos with low views except that one viral video?

Does it all boil down to luck? I’ve had my account for less than 2 wks, my videos started with views in the mid-high hundreds & a few with a little over 1k. Since then, my videos have been in the 300-600 view range & I only have 40+ followers. I see other users with videos that have even lower engagement for the most part except maybe 1-3 videos with thousands of views. And some with low engagement on videos but a lot of followers. Are they buying engagement? Or did they just get lucky with a one hit wonder? Feeling discouraged

Going viral isn't difficult, it just requires consistency and failure, learning what the algorithm likes and dislikes—what people watch and don't watch, etc.

It's retaining the momentum from that viral moment going forward that is INCREDIBLY difficult. You have to have something that sets you apart from every other creator, something that makes your brand, whether it is a product or your own influencer identity, stand out in an ocean of MILLIONS of people trying to do the same as you.

I rotated posted the same 15 or so videos on TikTok for about 6 months one a day. They typically get 0 to 100 views then one day one of them got 45K views. Anyone want to prove it's not luck?

I’ve had my TikTok account for exactly one month. 10 of my videos are 500-800, 13 are 1-5k, one is 97k. I had about 20 followers at the two week mark, now I have 300. But most of my followers did not come from the 97k video, it’s actually one of my lowest conversions. Just a random super viral vid that I knew would do well.

My best follower conversions come from videos where I showcase my personality in the videos (face to camera, voiceover) are you doing that?

A single viral post does not necessarily mean the account is buying engagement. Distribution is uneven, especially on a young account, because the platform is still figuring out which viewers are a good match. A few hundred views is not a useful verdict on the account yet.

I would track retention and shares or saves more than the raw view count, then compare the outlier with your normal posts. Look for the specific difference in the first two seconds, topic, length, on-screen text, and traffic source. Repeating the underlying format with a few deliberate variations usually teaches you more than trying to recreate the exact viral post.

Also, give each idea more than one attempt. A post can miss because of the opening frame or timing even when the core idea is solid. The goal at this stage is to find a repeatable pattern, not to make every upload perform.

I don't think it's all luck. A lot of accounts have one video that really connects with the algorithm and brings in most of their followers. After that engagement can go back to normal. Also followers don't always mean active followers so try not to compare too much. Two weeks is still very early keep testing different hooks and formats.

Don't stress over the numbers at the start or you'll burn out fast. 300-600 views for a new account is actually a solid start. Just keep filming focus on value or humor and don't expect every video to go viral. Consistency is the only thing that matters here

Hey all, I own a business that involves many clients that promote their product, art or website with TikTok (also Instagram, Youtube and Facebook). I want to offer them a way to post their content, or to get content created and posted for them on existing TikTok pages. Basically you got pages in a specific theme (sport, anime, cinema, culture, memes...) and you rent it for a specific period of time. You get paid every month, and all you have to do is basically connecting the account once to our system. You can opt-out anytime you want, you keep the full ownership of the account. That's basically a way to monetize your pages passively. For now I'm doing it myself with my own pages (3 tiktok pages with 500 to 3k followers, and 1 6k subscribers Youtube channel), I made around $800 renting these for less than a month.
