You’re so close on this.
Those who say, comment “wow”, have a secondary follow up set up.
Check out a platform called ManyChat. I’ve only used it for one client so far but it’s pretty handy for them as they run lots of fitness events.
So we’ll say, comment “event1” for more details, then anyone that sends that comment ManyChat DMs them a webpage right back with all the stuff on it. At the same time they can have, comment “event2” and event 2 details would be sent to them and set up another one with, comment “membership” and ManyChat sends them a link to the membership pages.
It just means that you can have auto replies and set up chats going 24/7, when you get up in the morning or have time you could then follow up on the chat if you feel like it or think it needs it.
It acts as engagement for the page, raising its profile, but instead of having “click here” CTA on a story you can have “comment X” on all of your posts as well so you can set up a CTA in the comments of insta.
The real upside is, you’ve DMd a person the details so even if they don’t act on it right away it’s in ther inbox to act upon another day so we get people asking for event details then signing up on payday or a few weeks later when they’ve gathered their friends for the event.
I’m sure there’s other alternatives but ManyChat is the only one I’ve had experience of.
