What tips would you give boomers adamant on increasing their professional SM presence? (Specifically Reels)
I, a chronically-online millennial, am tasked with leading a “social media tips and tricks” meeting for some of my coworkers to help them improve their selfie-type Reels. They themselves are public facing figures (I work for a radio station) but they are way behind in the digital landscape.
Before I get torn apart, let me say that I don’t mean to be disrespectful to my coworkers, but I know I’m fighting an uphill battle with folks who simply don’t use SM beyond FB but are expected to contribute to it. Additionally, I don’t want to disrespect those who actually do SM professionally. I value your work immensely, it’s just my company who is a bit late to the game on that.
I’m not a social media manager, but we are hiring one soon (yay!) so someone way more qualified and dedicated will soon approach this with fresh eyes.
I’m prepared to tell them about authenticity (read: avoid radio voice) and creativity. But I’m curious if anyone here has had success in a similar situation.
I also realize this conversation is likely more about strategy as a whole (e.g. what are these people talking about and why?) but until our strategist gets hired and puts something in place, these folks are going to be making videos regardless. I can only push that off so much.
Thanks in advance your responses.
